Traditionally, the introduction periods take place in September and February, at the start of the new semester. The subscription for February 2024 is closed.
The past few years, the climbing sport is growing, and this growth is expected to continue. That means that we run a selection based on your forms and motivation. So, think carefully about what you fill in. You'll hear whether you are selected near the end of February. If you haven't heard from us by then, let us know as soon as possible (wsacibex@gmail.com), because something may have gone wrong with your sign-up. Note that you need to be able to show a dutch IT-certificate (or equivalent) to join. Hopefully we see you soon during our introactivity!
To be assigned to a mentor group, you need to fill in your phone number in the sign-up form. We strongly recommend this because it really helps to get to know people and become a part of the association, which makes the experience so much more fun. Your mentor can provide you with information about the introduction period and is the first person the contact if you have questions. You can of course also always send an email to the board with questions (wsacibex@gmail.com).
At the subscription evening, the board gives a talk with information about the association and provides help with meeting the requirements for membership. It is important to be present during these dates. If you really cannot be present, you need to send an email to the board to discuss if there is a solution.
What you need to do to become a member is explained on the membership page. An overview of the requirements is included below:
IT certificate - Make sure you have an IT certificate before the subscription evening. You need to let your IT certificate be approved at the subscription evening. Ibex doesn't offer an IT course this winter, but you people who take the Bongerd course in February can subscribe, provided that they finish the course.
Annual student sports rights - Purchase annual student sports rights before the subscription evening. You need to let your sports rights be approved at the subscription evening with your WBA number. You can purchase annual student sports rights online or at the service desk in Sports Centre the Bongerd. If that doesn't work because you are a PhD student, you can send an email to the secretarial employee of the Bongerd (wendy.vandervliet@wur.nl). If you cannot manage to purchase annual student sports rights before the subscription deadline, please contact the board.
Website account - Register on the website before the subscription evening. You need to fill out your website account and let it be approved at the subscription evening.
Membership form (direct debit form) - You can fill out, sign and hand in your membership form at the subscription evening. You can download and print the membership form from the membership page, fill it out at home and take it to the subscription evening, but you can also get a form from us there.
